Love this magazine March 24, 2010 Jen T. (Virginia, USA) I am a faily new knitter (taught myself to knit about three years ago with help from internet videos), and I am finally to the point where I want to branch out and knit things other than simple scarves and hats. The patterns in this magazine are stylish, and will help me to learn new skills as I continue into the world of knitting. Lots of great information, articles, pictures. Will be one of my favorites for sure!
Wonderful updated patterns for knitting September 29, 2009 P. Wilson (Lebanon, OH United States) I love this magazine, plenty of updated classic styles as well as some new fashion forward styles, takes your knitting from afghans and scarves into great wardrobe items!
Super Projects that Withstand the Test of Time August 15, 2009 Carole A. Geronimo (NJ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used to be just a book and Vogue Knitting afficionado, but my local yarn store had a copy of Knits and I was hooked. The patterns are great - fashionable, current, but not super trendy, hip, in all skill sets and many different types (like cardis, socks, hats, etc.). They also appeal to a wide span of ages, which is very useful since I knit for ages from 12 to 80. It even has male patterns every now and then. I've had to get the old issues on ebay or Knits sells a CD. Along with the great patterns are very informative articles. But what really sets this apart are the wealth of the designers that they use, the wide range of yarns used, the fact that most patterns come in larger sizes (up to 3X) (unlike Vogue Knitting) and they are so current. I find myself going back to these mags again and again for patterns. I also like the fact that they show the sweater/hat, etc. from a number of different angles. This is a must if you are a knitting maven who has withdrawal symptoms if they have knitted in 24 hours.
Great mag if you like knitting garments October 21, 2008 craftgrrrrl 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Great magazine, informative articles, but just be aware it is heavily slanted toward sweaters and tops, less so on accessories or smaller projects. It's also a lot cheaper to subscribe directly from Interweave's website.
Great Knitting Mag September 30, 2008 Knitting Fool (Iowa City, IA USA) I haven't received my first issue from my subscription yet, but I have bought single issues in the past & love this magazine. There is a lot of inspiration whether from the beautiful patterns, or their profiles on knitting designers.
